Resources for Dying Well
This section is emerging and evolving with the miriad of beautiful offerings that are available. If you know of a resource that I have not signposted then please do let me know. Also if you would like to share your own story or spiritual tradition around death and dying then do reach out.
Gentle practices that bring some space and attention to the body, that can bring some relaxation and calmness to the mind and a chance to take a breath. At the end of life, these simple anchors can offer moments of calm, help ease discomfort, and create a sense of presence when everything else feels uncertain. These have been created by myself and from my friends in the yoga and meditation world. Includes breathwork, meditations, seated movement and guided relaxations.
A collection of voices, stories, and creative works that open up the experience of dying. Through listening and watching, you may find comfort, recognition, or new ways of relating to what is unfolding. Some of these are from my friends and some are very popular offerings from those much more famous. But they have been included as they have either moved myself or someone I know during thier journey. Includes poems, podcasts, books, documentaries and films.
Reflections and spiritual approaches to death and dying from different traditions and ways of seeing. These perspectives can help make meaning, soften fear, and support a deeper connection to what matters most. Where possible I have tried to offer these approaches first hand from the people of these traditions, so the offering by nature is personal rather than a robust summary of a particular approach. Includes blog posts with descriptions, photos, music and personal stories.
